Biles, along with her sister Adria and Ronald Biles were adopted as children by the grandparents of Houston. Simone began to take an interest in the sport of gymnastics as a young girl during a day-care field trip at Bannon's Gymnastix and remained there for 11 years, under the guidance of her trainer Aimee Boorman. Biles was a winner in the vault and floor exercises at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships before moving up to the highest level of competition in the year 2011. Within two years she had dominated this discipline. Biles made headlines for her constant performance her enthusiasm and level of effort she introduced every event - vault, uneven bars, balance beam and ground work.
