Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media critic for more than 20 years. She's well-known as a public speaker. She founded Feminist Frequency a website that hosts videos and commentary analyzing depictions of women's roles in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian was a Canadian as well as an American feminist media critic. Feminist Frequency is an educational site for non-profit organizations that explores the representations of females in popular culture narratives. As well as working to highlight the problems surrounding sexual harassment and attack on women and other minorities in online spaces she is committed to breaking down the stigmas and stereotypes prevalent in pop culture. With a master's in the field of political and social thinking from York University Sarkeesian is also a much sought-after public speaking engagement and has given speech at the TEDxWomen Festival as well as the United Nations' Broadband Working Group on Gender. Feminist Frequency was launched on the 9th of September 2009 by Sarkeesian. a University student who has been fascinated by issues related to gender and feminism since a considerable period of time. The ambitious lady planned to start an internet-based series that examined the gender roles in games and was then the victim of a harassment campaign online. Her determination was not slowed from the attack, and in fact it only reinforced her desire to become a media critic and feminist. Sarkeesian has been awarded numerous awards in recognition of her many significant contributions to the world of feminism. Anita Sarkeesian won awards for her role as a critic of media and founded Feminist Frequency. Feminist Frequency is a non-profit organization that explores the portrayals of women in contemporary pop culture.
