Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia Isabel Rodrigo (born February 20, 2003) is an American actor, singer and songwriter. Her roles as High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' leading lady earned her fame in late 2010. Rodrigo was successful in releasing her debut single Driver's License in 2020 following her signing with Interscope Records (Geffen) and Interscope Records (Interscope Records). The track broke records in a variety of categories and was one of her top songs in 2021. Following it she released two singles "Deja Vu," and "Good 4 U" and her first solo studio album Sour (2021), which received numerous accolades including three Grammy Awards. The Disney+ documentary, Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U, chronicling her creative process with Sour was released in 2022. Rodrigo has two Billboard Hot 100 number one singles and one Billboard 200 number number-one album. She also holds five multi-Platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America. In addition to other accolades, she was given an American Music Award as well as seven Billboard Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, and an American Music Award. Time declared her an Entertainer of 2021 as well as Billboard named her the woman of the year in 2022. Olivia Isabel Rodrigo was born on 20 February 2003 in Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta, California, to the school teacher Jennifer and family therapist Chris Rodrigo. [3][4][5][6] Her family lived in Temecula. Rodrigo is Filipino American. Rodrigo has an Irish and German mother. [6][9][10] It has been reported by Rodrigo that her paternal greatgrandfather immigrated from the Philippines to America when he was an adolescent. Her family continues to follow Filipino customs and cuisines. [11] Rodrigo started taking vocal lessons in kindergarten and learned to play piano shortly after. [12] She began taking singing and acting classes at the age of six. She also started acting in theater productions at elementary school. Rodrigo had already started playing guitar by the age of 12. [12] She was raised listening to alternative rock music by her parents including Pearl Jam, No Doubt, Green Day, and the White Stripes. Rodrigo discovered her love for songwriting after hearing country music, such as Taylor Swift. [14] After securing her Bizaardvark job, she relocated to Los Angeles.
